1/3 cup oats
1/8 cup water (you can use skim, almond, soy milk when not on challenge)
1/2 scoop protein powder
1 tbsp peanut or almond butter
Mixings (berries are great and what I used today, bananas are awesome in there, and so are chocolate chips)
cinnamon sprinkled on top
You just mix it all up in a bowl, flatten it out, then put it in the fridge overnight. SOOO good 🙂
And I made the almond crusted chicken I have heard so much about for dinner last night (pictured above). Wow!! No words!! I was shocked at how good it was. For that, I blended up about 10 almonds, some garlic, and a dash of olive oil (like 1/4 tsp). Then coated the chicken breast in an egg white and covered it with my almond mixture. Cooked on stove top about 3 mins on each side, then popped it in the oven with an array of veggies (spinach, bell peppers, tomatoes, basil, garlic, and a shallot). I let that bake for about 18 minutes at 350… took it out and it was super moist and tender. I will definitely be making this one again soon.
Today’s looking good in terms of food and supplements. Here we go…
5:20 – wake up, take cleanse pills
5:30 – CG! ( more like 5:35 since I couldn’t find everyone in the garage)
6:45 – COOKIE!!! and fiber drink (vom) and Spark
8 – wake up # 2
9:30 – Breakfast # 2…. egg whites
10 – Chocolate protein drink
10:45 – lots of berries
12 – giant smoothie with raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries, and a tiny bit of stevia
2 – celery with homemade salsa, 8 baby carrots
3 – Spark
4 – Chocolate protein shake
and I’ll probably put tonight on repeat of last night, minus the run since I’ll be doing CG double time!
So, I got my smoothie today from the Smoothie Factory. I did the custom order thing and the lady started asking me questions about “why no yogurt, etc.” I told her about CG and are challenge. She was doing a cleanse of her own recommended by her doctor. All she can eat is fruits and vegetables for 21 days. She is also taking supplements. When I heard about that one, it made our cleanse sound 100% better. When I was leaving, she asked me what I was hoping to accomplish with the challenge and what is going to happen in a month when it is over. I knew the answer to the first part, but not completely to the second. My main goal with this challenge is to lean up a bit and maintain my weight. I also really wanted to see how supplements impacted my day to day activities. The second part of the question is tricky. After the challenge, when I have no point sheet to report to and no Amy monitoring it all… what will happen? I think I will stick to the majority of the diet. I’m definitely going to have to make allowances for dairy in my life, but not on a daily basis. And, there will have to be an at least two healthy fat stipulation 🙂 And hopefully, I will find that supplements are right for me and I will stick with the Advocare products.
I’m very glad the lady asked me what my plan of attack was for after the challenge. I’ve really only been thinking about getting through the next 20 or so days. It is so important to remember your long term goals and how you are going maintain them. ahh.. deep thoughts…. (not so much).
Anyway, hope everyone is having a good Thursday. It is soooo close to the weekend!!! Is anyone else planning out their cheat meal???
