Somehow the week slipped by and I completely forgot to mention that I am in New Orleans for a little bit of running and a whole lot food.

Think poboys, beignets, and all the fresh seafood I can handle, with a side of 20 miles or so.

I signed up originally to run the full marathon, but with the three sinus infections I’ve had in two months, training has really taken a hit. One of my very dear friends will be running her first full so I’m going to head on out and try and do my absolute best half, then sneak back into the marathon to finish the last six miles with her.  The last six aren’t always the most fun.  I am so excited for her to run her first full though, and I think New Orleans is a great city for a debut marathon. So much to look at and distract you, and if things start to get really rough, nothing is stopping you from having a mid-run cocktail.

Have a fantastic weekend and good luck to all the New Orleans half and full marathoners tomorrow!
