Joys of adulthood

I think there are a lot of people in their twenties that struggle with accepting adulthood.  Somehow I find myself on the opposite end of that spectrum.  I have 100% completely embraced that I am only 13 years away from turning 40.  I also have embraced that I no longer can eat pizza without getting some serious indigestion, or have more than two glasses of wine without getting a headache, or that staying up till 2am is nearly impossible for me (especially on a Friday).

One thing that still continues to amaze me though is how my shopping habits have changed.  Ever since I bought the townhome, I have been less interested in checking out sales at Nordstrom and more interested in saving money for items for the house.

Don’t get me wrong, I said less interested.  Go back about ten posts and you’ll see that I still have some Nordstrom issues.

But, for the most part, I am usually saving my nickels and dimes for items that I need to add to or replace in the house.  And the current items that I need to replace are my washer and dryer.  I have been eyeing front-load washer and dryer sets for the last year or so.

Well the time may have finally come to purchase a new set.  And I couldn’t be more excited.  This set went on sale at Best Buy this weekend, so Wes and I will be headed to the store bright and early to see what they are like in person.  From online research, they seem to be a great deal and have gotten strong, positive reviews. More importantly, however, is that they almost perfectly match the color of my accent wall and office.

See?  Yes, they would be hidden away in the laundry room, but I still think it is meant to be.  🙂
