The week of craziness

I can’t believe this week is finally here.

I’ve been looking forward to this week for months.

Originally, this was the week that I was to run my second marathon in LAS VEGAS with a bunch of my girlfriends.  But now, it is also the week that I will compete for $10,000 in the Aetna Healthy Food Fight.

I’ll also get to meet Bobby Flay.

Wednesday starts a whirlwind of travelling. I head to NYC that evening. The Aetna competition is on Friday. Then, I will hop on a plane Saturday afternoon and head to Las Vegas. The marathon is Sunday afternoon.  After the marathon, I will have a few days to hang out in Vegas, then I come home…. where I will stay put for quite some time.

Well actually, I’ll only stay put for a few weeks. Christmas is right around the corner!

So far, I’ve done a great job keeping my nerves in check. I haven’t really thought about the competition or who I will be cooking for.  But, I’ve started getting a little nervous today. Mainly because I’ve developed a really nasty cold, and I don’t want Bobby to have to ask Aetna why a snot filled girl is cooking.

That would be really embarrassing.

I have a feeling I will be better by Friday though, so I’m probably worrying over nothing.  In case you have somehow missed my twitter, facebook, and various other pleas, you can still vote for the Aetna Fan Favorite. I realize I am in second place and that two of the other contestants have teamed up to try and beat me, but I’m not ready to throw in the towel quite yet. I care too much about the organization I’m supporting to give up.  Please take thirty seconds to vote. Or, if you don’t want too, send me your info and I’ll do it for you!

Cooking will be a little hit or miss over the next week or so with me travelling, but everything will be back to normal a week from Wednesday. Thanks for understanding.
