After a fun and very full day in New York yesterday, I am ready for the contest.
My mood is much better today. Wes made it to the Rockettes only twenty minutes late yesterday. The show was fantastic, and so full of the Christmas spirit. The Andaz hotel and Liz from Aetna did a fantastic job coordinating pick up for him. They are the reason her was able to make it to the show. I am so thankful for all of their help.
I also got to have a wonderful dinner with some of Wes’ college friends. Prior to last night, I had never met them. However, I feel like I had met them all because he has told me so much about them for so long.
I’ll be at the contest for the majority of the morning and afternoon today. I’m sure I will have some stories about that tomorrow.
For now, I’m putting up a few pictures from my dad’s birthday cake. Please make this angel food. It is easy and oh so good. I promise. I used to be intimidated by homemade angel foods as well, but this recipe (so far) has not failed me.
The chocolate buttercream was delicious. Add a little cocoa to your regular buttercream recipe, or use mine.
Buttercream has the key to my heart.
I kid. But, a good buttercream will take you far in life.
