Blueberry Colada Smoothie

Earlier today on the radio I heard that we will be approaching 90 degrees this afternoon.

While the idea of 90 degree temperatures may send some of you running for cover, ready to amp up your AC and lather yourself in sunscreen, this little piece of news actually made my Wednesday. I’ll be delighted when temperatures actually hit 100 degrees.

Why? Because it means summer time, the smell of coconut, the end of 10K/10Q crazy season, Saturdays at the pool, extra sweaty long runs at 6am, and lots and lots of smoothies.  I’m pretty sure I could happily live off of this Blueberry Colada smoothie all summer.

Blueberry Colada Smoothie

1/2 cup frozen blueberries
2 ice cubes
1 1/4 cups water
2 Scoops Isagenix Vanilla Shake (or your vanilla protein of choice)
1 tsp PB2
1/2 tsp Coconut extract

Place all ingredients in a blender and whirl it together until smooth and creamy.

You can choose to garnish it with some coconut flakes or additional blueberries, although the blueberries do sink right to the bottom.

Delicious and totally refreshing, leaving my fingers with the faintest smell of coconut extract on them, which makes getting through the 9-5 that much easier.  I can pretend I’m at the beach when I’m actually in my little CPA world, practicing my ten key skills and calculating yields.

Thank goodness for an active imagination.

What are your favorite smoothie recipes? I am going to try adding spinach to this one just for the added veggie factor. Except for the tiny green specks it will leave in my teeth, I think it will go unnoticed.

  1. I will tell you – I created an Isagenix smoothie with blueberries and spinach and it came out GREY! 🙂 Was delicious, but ugly!

    1. Haha I had one of those for breakfast. I make sure to drink it before I get to work because my coworkers would be quite grossed out. Too bad they don’t know how yummy they are!

  2. I’m going to have to try this one w/ spinach like Bethany did, sounds delish! I substituted the PB2 for almond butter in mine this A.M. and it was pretty tasty! So glad you have all of these healthy recipes on your blog, Lindsey.

  3. So glad you guys are adjusting well to the move and that everyone is being welcoming :):)I can't believe it's already been a week since the Sandy Hook incident. My heart hurts so much for all of those effected, such a terrible tragedy 🙁

  4. Scamp, Scamp, come on. As a fan of your creative work and of the opinions you usually express on your blog I’m a little disapointed, infact shocked that you actually find this badly written badly executed pile of crap worthy of praise. It’s wallpaper, wallpaper from woolworths.

  5. Capital will flow to where the return is highest. We are in the process of lowering returns and making them more uncertain. Not a good combination. The Fed cannot stimulate real growth in the long run.

  6. WIll be interesting to see how the multi-site capabilities will be included in the admin interface. Imo, keeping these functions quite hidden per default could be a good idea for the gui to not make it too cluttered for the majority of WP users who will not be interested in the multi-site capabilities. E.g. activating all these functions with radiobuttons with “Activate multi-site capabilities? Yes/No” from Settings –> General with “no” per default could be a start? Or are there advantages from WPMU that standalone WP could benefit from that I miss?Anyone have a clue about thinking in this area?

  7. I call myself an artist. Sometimes I modify that and say “book artist” depending on the context in which I am asked. I have been paid to work (and for work) in 17 different ‘jobs’. Some of them overlap and some don’t.And although I am not ‘impressed’ that you are a formally trained mathematician, I do find it intriguing and interesting. Two of my brothers-in-law are mathematicians/hotshot computer programmers. They are also both talented musicians. I am interested in the combinations of talents that people have.
