Biscuits and Gravy Burger

I’ve really done it this time. In my effort to come up with a creative recipe for the Johnsonville No Ordinary Burger contest, I’ve created perhaps one of the most delicious things to come out of my kitchen, or should I say off the grill.

The “Not Your Mama’s Biscuits and Gravy Burger.” I am incredibly proud of it, now if only I could find a way to make it remotely healthy.

Sometimes though, it is fun to go all out, and that is just what I did here. I really didn’t have a choice. This is a huge contest, with an incredible prize that would pretty much make my year (minus the whole getting married thing) if I got to compete.

Looks innocent enough doesn’t it? A nice jalepeno cheese biscuit (homemade might I add) and some sort of mysterious filling…

But let us get a closer look at that filling.  It appears to be some kind of burger, but definitely not your ordinary burger. No, no it is a Johnsonville Mild Italian Sausage Patty.

And now you can really see where the trouble begins. Gravy oozing out of every orifice of this heavenly burger.

Guy Fieri would be so proud. In fact, I might invite him to come and do an episode of Triple D right here in my townhome.  This is the type of burger his dreams are made of. Guaranteed.
