Summer time!

2013 seems to be flying by! I can’t believe we are pretty much halfway through July, which means we are only 166 days away from Christmas. Which also means we are only 109 days left from the arrival of Baby C.

Wait what?

That’s right, Baby C!

Surprise! Wes and I were so excited to find out that we are expecting a precious baby girl at the end of October.  A little Halloween baby!

Hopefully that will help explain my long, over-due absence from the blog. For the first 13 weeks, I lived off of a constant supply of various carbs, including butter crackers, Ramen, cereal, and bagels. If I didn’t eat something every two hours, I felt pretty miserable. Poor Wes suffered through that time with me having to fend for himself for meals.

Luckily Wes is a great cook and also didn’t mind the abundance of sandwiches we were eating. I am fairly certain that boy could live off of sandwiches and sandwiches alone.

Now that we are well into the second trimester, actually nearing the end, my eating and cooking habits have gone back to normal. So really I have no excuse, other than I’ve been lazy.  Growing a baby is hard work!

According to The Bump, our baby girl is about the size of a cantaloupe this week. She is almost a foot long and could weigh up to 20.8 ounces. Amazing! I’ve been feeling all sorts of fun movements throughout the day and you can even see my stomach move if you watch closely. Wes got to feel her kick for the first time on Father’s Day. We both thought that was pretty special.

Other than having to go to bed every night at about 9, I really can’t complain. I’m still able to run, go to bootcamp, do headstands during yoga (only for a few seconds, don’t worry!), bake pies, and for the most part keep up with Wes.

I’m still waiting for the day when a stranger asks me if I am pregnant. To me, and especially in this picture, it is incredibly obvious.

But, I’m still a bit scared to wear anything form fitting out of the house yet. I think next week will be the week to experiment. She is growing incredibly fast, so I know my baby bump has to follow! However I’m hoping my chest opts to stop growing. Things are getting a bit ridiculous…

So there you have it guys.  I will try and be better about blogging again. I know I will appreciate having this when I’m looking back on our pregnancy.

Plus I’ve been coming up with some great recipes that I really need to share. We had a chicken salad this week that pretty much rocked my world. I’m hoping to recreate it next week, so maybe that will make an appearance.

Possible chicken salad on the blog… I know I’ve got you on the edge of your seat now. 🙂
