The Dogs

I can pretty much imagine your thought process upon stumbling upon a food blog called Pardon the Dog Hair.

Please give me a chance and allow me to explain.

Although dog hair is a common ingredient  on my clothing, on my hardwood floors, and on my pillow (yes, you can judge me for that one), it is not a common ingredient in any of the food I make.  Dogs are a huge part of my life, and I am particularly passionate about rescue dogs. Both of my girls, Lizzie and Suzie, are former rescue dogs that found me and absolutely captured my heart. I spent the last few years being a “foster mom” to so many wonderful dogs and was able to find them all new loving homes to settle into. That was until my last foster dog, Suzie.  She turned me into a “foster failure,” as she won over not only my heart, but Wes and Lizzie’s as well.  Because I’ve had to give up my role as a foster mom for the time being, I now volunteer my time and regularly donate to different animal rescue groups in Dallas. Slowly but surely I am earning money through advertising revenue on the blog, and in turn, am able to donate money to help these groups.  Thank you for allowing me to support these groups simply by reading my blog.

There are so many beautiful, kind dogs just waiting to find a family to love them,  and give them their “furever home.” If you are interested in getting a dog, I highly recommend checking out the dogs available through a local rescue group. You can commonly find them set up on the weekend at local pet supply stores (Petsmart, Petco, Pet Supplies Plus), or you can google dog rescue groups in your city.  If you have any questions, I would be more than happy to help answer them.
